2 Education There are many educational programs and opportunities for those wishing to pursue training the hospitality and tourism industry:  4 year Bachelor’s Degrees (College)  Community College  Specialty Schools  On-the-Job Training

3 Possible Four-Year Degrees Hotel and Lodging Management Restaurant and Foodservice Management Travel and Tourism Management Leisure/Sports Management Hospitality Management Hotel and Restaurant Management

5 Specialty School Options Certification: Authorization stating that one has fulfilled requirements to work in a certain field or career. There are many certifications, including: – Certified Hotel Administrator – Certified Lodging Manager – Certified Food and Beverage Executive – Certified Hospitality Sales Professional – Certified Hospitality Educator – Certified Travel Associate

6 Professional and Trade Organizations Group or association dedicated to a specific trade or profession. Provide valuable resources to the industry and its members. 7 On-the-Job Training Apprenticeship: educational, hands-on experience working at a business with an experienced employee. May be paid or unpaid. Many businesses in the hospitality and tourism industry offer hands-on training.
