2. CLASS:1 st graders GOALS :  To help pupils acquire basic vocabulary and improve their vocabulary knowledge.  To familiarize pupils with the oral and written representation of their first names

3. COGNITIVE OBJECTIVES Pupils will be able to:  name objects that fall into basic categories that are of special interest to them  memorize and repeat a variety of English words  recall basic vocabulary they have acquired  relate objects with specific sounds  relate English words to their Greek equivalents

4. AFFECTIVE OBJECTIVES Pupils will:  get to know each other better  get used to working in groups and contributing to each other’s work  associate classroom experience with their personal experience from everyday life  build up their self-esteem and mutual respect

5. PSYCHOMOTOR OBJECTIVES Pupils will:  prepare material for their personal portfolio  contribute to each other’s end product

6. EVALUATION Successful completion of the project will be assessed according to the following questions: have pupils acquired basic vocabulary? are they able to reproduce the knowledge they have acquired by responding to simple questions? are they able to relate sounds to respective objects? are they able to classify objects into categories (e.g. fruit, animals, etc.?) have they got used to working in groups and contributing to each other’s work?

7. ACTIVITIES Pupils will be engaged in a variety of activities to cater for all learning styles:  coloring and cutting-out activities  bingo games  pinning objects on A3 posters (e.g. a zoo for animals, a kitchen’s table for fruit and so on and so forth)  online jigsaw puzzles etc.

9. END-PRODUCTS a portfolio comprising of children’s classroom work (paintings, cut-outs, etc.) a certificate for successful completion of the project with the pupils’ first names “written” in pictures (pupils will form groups, they will be given their first names in QR code and they will be asked to decipher the code by choosing the right pictures that make up their first names)
