6 PRODUCTION TEAM  VISION TEAM-- Teacher of the Visually Impaired Core-Curriculum Textbooks for all subjects Workbooks, Practice Books, Spelling Books Decodable, Accelerated Reading, or Literature Overheads, Handouts, Student Handbook

7 PRODUCTION TEAM  VISION TEAM-- Technical Aide or Instructional Assistant Provides hands-on assistance as needed for Braille support Collects Materials needed from all teaching team members o Produces Large Print Materials according to requests o Produces Braille Materials according to requests o Produces Tactile Materials according to requests

8 PRODUCTION TEAM  VISION TEAM-- Production Office Technical Aide Produces Large Print Materials according to requests Produces Braille Materials according to requests Produces Tactile Materials according to requests Supports Tech Aides that are assigned students at a Community Based Program.

14 PRODUCTION TEAM  COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAM TEAM Expanded Core Specialists o Computer Lab Specialist – Mac Lab; provide ‘cheat sheet’ for adjusting for accessibility needs. – Arrange for Trial Downloads of software for accessibility needs. Provide ‘cheat sheet’ for Keyboard Commands.

15 PRODUCTION TEAM  COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAM TEAM Expanded Core Specialists o Art Teacher – Inquire what activity is during the next week – Inquire what materials the class is using, and request or provide alternate materials to make activity accessible – Attend class on an as needed basis to ensure student is involved fully in activity.

20 REVIEW THE NEEDS  LARGE PRINT ACCESS Physical Books o TVI fills out a Production Request Form with specific needs stated. o Most frequently an 11x17 print copy is sufficient o Special requests of formatting or color copies are indicated on the form.

21 REVIEW THE NEEDS  LARGE PRINT ACCESS Hand Held Optical Devices o An inventory request is submitted for Magnifiers, Monoculars, and other low-tech devices. Unless the item is not available, the request is filled within two days. The teacher is notified when the item is available for pick-up.

22 REVIEW THE NEEDS  LARGE PRINT ACCESS Electronic Magnification Devices o Digital Magnifier, CCTV, and portable camera/monitor o An inventory request is submitted. Before ordering high-end products, an all-call is put out to see if someone is not using an item that is checked out.

23 REVIEW THE NEEDS  LARGE PRINT ACCESS Computer Software o It is important to try different software, however, compatibility issues should be a consideration. o Student laptops and computer lab computers being used for lessons can use Trial software. o Licensed Software needs to be installed on student laptops that are used for all student work. o Licensed Software needs to be installed on teacher laptops that are used for multiple students.

25 REVIEW THE NEEDS  BRAILLE ACCESS Physical Books o Tech Aides provide all produced Braille materials for our students o TVI’s collect all books needed and provide a Production Request Form with all of the requirements indicated.
