17 Goal # 1 – All students will meet the Michigan standards on the MEAP and MME tests in Mathematics. Goal # 2 – All students will meet the Michigan standards on the MEAP and MME tests in Language Arts.

22 Focus on goals 5, 6, 7, and 8 Goals 5 – 8 involve improving school climate, encouraging higher academic achievement and improving public perception of the school. Our Mission The community, students, and staff of the Brimley Area Schools will work together to create a safe and challenging environment that will promote success in academic skills, team work, critical thinking, and personal responsibility that enables all students to attain their educational goals.

23 Goal # 5 The school website will be updated on a regular basis. A monthly newsletter will be published. A brochure of our school will be developed and made available to realtors. Student-written articles will be included in the school newsletter. Goal # 6 The First Day of School program will be conducted on an annual basis. The Parent-Teacher Organization will continue to receive support and involvement by school personnel. On a yearly basis, a list of volunteers tasks will be compiled, then parent volunteers will be recruited to complete the tasks.

24 Goal # 7 Staff In-Service time will be made available in order to discuss strategies for improvement of the Character Education program. Our character education program will be based upon the Character Counts program. Community involvement and/or participation in Character Counts! will be expanded. Goal # 8 Expand Student of the Month to all elementary, middle school and high school grades. Increase opportunities for academic recognition. Increase after school programs for academic interests. Encourage coaches to provide “study time” before athletic team practices.
