2 History Key Dates 1  on April 1st, 1932, the Civil Airport of Cluj is established  in 1944, the airport is destroyed during the World War II  between 1960-1970 - the first reconstruction stage  between 1995-2009 - traffic development and modernization of the infrastructure  between 2011 – 2013 - a new runway was constructed at the airport  in 2014, Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport reached over 1,180,000 passengers for the 4 th time in the last 5 years

3 Location 2 Cluj – in the centre of Transylvania  historical city founded by Romans in 124 AD  the second economic centre of Romania  population: 700,000 inhabitants (Cluj County) & 320,000 inhabitants (Cluj- Napoca)  multicultural region with a huge tourist potential  the oldest academic centre of the country (11 universities, 51 faculties; 100,000 foreign students living annually in the city) Cluj-Napoca

5 Basic Information Cluj Airport CLUJ INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (CLJ)  1st regional airport of Romania  2nd airport of Romania after Bucharest in terms of passenger traffic  1,180,000 passengers in 2014 with a 14% increase compared to 2013  1,500,000 passengers expected in 2015  modern airport infrastructure (new runway and movement surfaces – 2013, new passenger terminals – 2008 & 2009)  located at 10 km east from the city center  expanded catchment area of more than 3.5 million people within 170 km from the airport  direct flights to 33 scheduled and 9 charter destinations (2015-2016)  air carriers on regular flights: TAROM, Lufthansa, Wizz Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Blue Air, Vueling Airlines 4

11 Cluj Airport Infrastructure (2) New Runway and Movement Surfaces NEW RUNWAY  Operational identification code 07-25  Is located north of the old runway  Is classified as 3C category, allows operation of Airbus (range A318-A321) and Boeing (range 737) aircraft  CAT II runway lighting system  Will facilitate the development and continuous expansion of the airport's routes network in the coming years  Marks the completion of a new stage in the strategy for development and modernization of the airport's infrastructure GOLF TAXIWAY  offers the possibility to operate to large aircraft that require surfaces with a high pavement classification number  aircraft movement times are now shorter  air traffic is more fluid  time and fuel savings being registered by all airlines currently operating at Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport PARKING PLATFORM - APRON 4  2 aircraft parking spaces (category C aircraft)  The completion and use of the Apron 4 aircraft parking represents a very important achievement in terms of operational activity 1010
