2  What are the benefits of using mineral makeup?  What are the main minerals and what are the benefits for your skin?  When to use mineral or liquid makeup.  Which minerals make the color in makeup?

3  Zinc oxide  Titanium dioxide  Talc  Mica  Silica

4  Gives you an youthful "glow“ and a natural look.  Very good coverage that doesn't feel like you're wearing any makeup at all.  It is free of preservatives, oil, fragrance and other chemicals.  Most mineral foundations have a natural SPF.  Smoothes skin.  Improves the overall appearance of skin with acne.  Ideal for sensitive skin.

5  Stearic Acid: acid that acts as a thickener in cosmetics, moisturizers and other skin care products.  Mica Powder: group of silicate minerals that provide shimmering appearance.  Lanolin: acts to repel water and moisture to keep makeup dry in wet weather.  Titanium Dioxide: A whitening agent used in cosmetics to whiten eye shadows, powders and other cosmetics.

6  Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are commonly found in sunscreen, so mineral makeup has a built-in SPF.  Zinc oxide helps you if you suffer from facial redness.  Most of these ingredients are found in nature, so mineral powder tends to be nontoxic and much better for your skin than other cosmetics are.

7  Mineral foundation is good for people with oily skin. If you use it, it helps prevent the oiliness of your skin.  Liquid foundation is good for people with dry skin. It gives you a smooth finish and also moisturizes.

8  Minerals provide the color to eyes, cheeks, lips, and nails.  Iron oxide is one of the most important color for minerals.  Today, iron oxides give red, orange, yellow, brown, and black tones to makeup.  Chrome oxides are used for greens.  Blue and pink coloring is made from a mixture of kaolin, soda ash, sulfur, and charcoal.  Even gold has historically been used as a colorant.
