If things aren’t aligning quite right, experiment with the Scale to Fit Paper setting. It’s located in the Print dialog – just click Full Page Slides to get to it. And did you notice we made fold marks for you? They are really light, but if you don’t like them showing on your brochure, click View, Slide Master, and delete them before you print. Customizing the Content: If you need more placeholders for titles, subtitles or body text, just make a copy of what you need and drag it into place. PowerPoint’s Smart Guides will help you align it with everything else. By the way, if you need to move or copy the red lines, you can select them by clicking the dotted outlines. Description and Programme Structure About the programme Entry Requirements Diploma Level 2 The Level 2 Diploma in Culinary Arts is for candidates who wish to work in the hospitality industry and already have knowledge of the basic principles of kitchen work, or who can demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to work and study in order to supplement their existing knowledge. Candidates will be required to display both practical skills and the associated knowledge in order to complete the assessments What does the qualification cover? The qualification covers both safety at work and in the preparation of food, healthy eating and special diets, costing and menu planning and the preparation, cooking and finishing of a wide range of commodities and dishes. What opportunities for progression are there? On completion of this qualification candidates may progress into employment as a Commis Chef or to the following City & Guilds qualifications: City & Guilds Level 2 Food Preparation and Cooking (Patisserie) – 8065-03 City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Cookery Supervision – 8065-04 Diploma Level 2 – Patisserie The Level 2 Diploma in Patisserie is for candidates who wish to work in the hospitality industry and specialize in Patisserie. They will already have knowledge of the basic principles of kitchen work, or will demonstrate the commitment and enthusiasm to work and study in order to supplement their existing knowledge. Candidates will be required to display both practical skills and the associated knowledge in order to complete the assessments What does the qualification cover? The qualification covers food safety and safety at work and the preparation, cooking and finishing of a wide range of patisserie products Food Preparation & culinary arts A qualification in culinary arts gives candidate the opportunity to work on the front line of the catering industry or in a supervisory or managerial role. Candidate can learn to prepare, cook and serve all kinds of food, or specialize in patisserie, producing cakes and desserts. If you choose the highest level you'll also cover the business aspects of food preparation, budgeting, training and organizing staff, planning menu policies and production procedures. This qualification can be taken worldwide An international qualification in culinary arts is for anyone interested in working in food preparation, especially people aiming for a supervisory or managerial role. A completed registration form must be handed in. Applicants must attaché two (2) passport size photographs that have been stamped, signed and certified as a true copy by any one of the following persons; JP, Minister of Religion, Lawyer, Principal, Doctor or Superintendent of Police. Certificate Level applicants There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking the Certificate Level, However All applicants will be subjected to a Maths and English entry test. Diploma Level applicants- should posses two(2) CSEC/CAPE subjects, including Mathematics or English. Experience may be considered. OR Applicants who do not have the specified CSEC/CAPE will be subjected to sit an Numeracy and Literacy entry level test. OR possess a Certificate or equivalent level Certification. Experience may be considered. Advanced Diploma: Applicants must possess a Diploma or equivalent level Certification to be qualified to enroll on the programme. Duration Certificate: 2 Semesters (6 Months) Diploma: 2 Semesters ( 6 Months) Diploma Patisserie : 2 Semesters ( 6 Months) Certificate Level 1 The Level 1 Certificate in Food Preparation and Cooking is for candidates who want to begin a career within the hospitality industry, specializing in kitchen operations. They will wish to progress as a qualified chef and will be able to demonstrate the ability to perform practical skills and the necessary knowledge in order to complete the assessments What does the qualification cover? The qualification covers an introduction to the hospitality industry, elements of health, safety and nutrition and the preparation, cooking and finishing of dishes using a range of different cookery methods What opportunities for progression are there?
