2 What is BMES? The Biomedical Engineering Society is a group on campus for BME students that is designed to assist its members in finding jobs and research positions and provide networking opportunities with peers, faculty and industry professionals.

4 National Membership Our chapter of BMES is a part of the BMES national organization and receives support from them. We need our members to be registered with the BMES national organization. The cost is $30 for a 1 year membership. Once you have done this please provide the club with your new membership number for registration purposes. 5 Mentorship Program Juniors Paired with Freshmen Sophomores with Seniors Mentor will provide mentee with advice regarding class selection, Professors, BME Track related questions etc. Form will be sent out in this weeks email

6 9/23 Beacon Seminar BEACON in conjunction with MEDTRONIC (the former Covidien) presents a series of seminars throughout the year focused on the medical device industry. Next event on September 23, 2015 – “Crowdsourcing for Medical Device Innovation.” Networking Reception 5:30-6:30 PM Presentation 6:30-7:30 PM Medtronic will pay for a bus to transport UConn students to North Haven, CT to its headquarters – however, there must be at least 45 students who want to attend. A link to a Goggle Doc signup will be sent out via email.

8 Additional Involvement Involvement in this club goes beyond meetings. Your level of involvement is up to you. By being more involved you will be networking with many members of the UConn community. This can be very beneficial to you personally. Again, if you want to be more involved let us know!
