2 2 SEO Accomplishments in 2015  Kim Holloway... Managed website content, release of new website features (document system, deliverables tracking), maintained CEOS mailing lists, developed outreach materials, supported data acquistion analyses, supported WGCapD, supported outreach for the GEO Ministerial, and supported training and capacity building for SilvaCarbon.  Shelley Stover … Supported WGClimate (ECV Inventory transition to ESA/EUMETSAT) and the MIM Database (with ESA).  Data Acquisition Planning and System Analyses... Completed 5 country reports for GFOI, systems analyses to support the GFOI Data Flow study, broad JECAM data sharing agreement for Radarsat-2, sustained support to the GFOI and GEOGLAM.  Data Cubes... Initiated and led 5 Data Cube team telecons. Worked with Australia (GA and CSIRO) to develop requirements and obtained NASA approval for open source software release.  Enhanced COVE tool to improve support of GFOI and GEOGLAM. Completed annual mission updates to the Data Policy Portal. Supported annual updates and enhancements to the MIM Database.  Outreach support for the IGARSS meeting in Milan, Italy (July), the GEO Ministerial in Mexico (November), and COP-21 in Paris (Nov/Dec). Developed new outreach materials and expanded the impact of CEOS through social media.

3 3 SEO Plans for 2016  GEOGLAM and GFOI: Continued support for data acquisition planning and supporting systems analyses.  Development of several Data Services Prototypes for cloud-based storage, processing and distribution of country-specific data for GFOI and GEOGLAM. Siginficant work planned for the two Data Cube prototypes (Kenya and Colombia).  Enhancement of the COVE tool: Add more missions, instruments and operating modes; Add more links to mission data archives; Add more data overlays; Convert interface from Google Earth to Cesium.  Annual updates to the Data Policy Portal and the MIM Database. Plans to link the Data Policy Portal and MIM.  Outreach support for the 2016 GEO Plenary Meeting. Develop new outreach materials and expand the impact of CEOS through social media. 4 Systems Engineering Tools COVE Tool  254 missions, 692 mission-instrument combinations. 5800+ unique users in 2015.  Future Overlays: Global Phenology (NDVI), GEOGLAM Mission Combination Revisit Analysis  Current Archive Links: Landsat, SPOT, Pleaides, Radarsat-2, ALOS-1.  Future Archive Links: Sentinel-1A/2A  Coverage Analyzer: Improved menus and processing performance, integration with KMLs and EXCEL. Data Policy Portal  135 current CEOS missions in orbit. 71% open data access.  Entire database includes 650 mission/instrument combinations from 28 countries.  Updated annually, including links to client portals. 4 www.ceos-cove.org www.ceos-datapolicy.org

5 5 Data Services Prototypes  Kenya Data Cube – Working with the Australian Govt., Clinton Foundation and SLEEK. Will deliver full country Data Cube based on 7500+ Landsat scenes in Nov 2015. User interface will allow mosaic creation and change detection. Future expansion of datasets including SRTM, ALOS, MODIS and SPOT.  Colombia Data Cube – Working with Colombia Govt. (IDEAM), CSIRO and Universities. Delivered a mini-cube (4 path-row regions) in Oct 2015. Local team plans to expand cube to full country and test the user interface. Future expansion of datasets and applications in 2016.  Asia-Rice – The SEO continues to work with the Asia-Rice team to enhance the cloud-based storage and processing tool. Performance has improved over time with a recent move of the cloud server to Singapore.  JECAM – The SEO is working with the JECAM team to develop a storage and processing tool for a SAR intercomparison study. Due to the need to host restricted datasets, we have not yet found an acceptable hosting option (Amazon or local). Future meeting on Nov 16-18.
