11 African Centre for Statistics Summary Most countries have an action plan for implementing the 2008 SNA Some have also taken follow-up actions Training needs, technical and financial assistance are expected both from national authorities and development partners in the following areas: –capacity building of national accountant staff –technical assistance missions –financial assistance

12 African Centre for Statistics Recommendations Countries –Classifications of activities and products –Updated business register –Production of indicators with new classifications –Statistical operations for the compilation of a base year –Adequate resources (human, material and financial) for national accounts –Appropriate communication plan for all producers and users of statistics

International organizations –Methods: documents and methodological handbooks –Capacity building of national accountants staff –Technical assistance missions (bilateral, multilateral, etc.) –Financial assistance for specific cooperation projects (bilateral, multilateral, etc.)

RECs –Common program and simultaneous implementation of the 2008 SNA in member countries –Funding for joint programs with other partners –Direct or indirect financial and technical assistance to countries –Follow up actions in its area of competence and regular reporting for CSC
