2 Review: Objects used to focus sound make the energy concentrated, sounding louder. A megaphone is one object that concentrates sound. Sound can travel through solids, liquids, and gases.

5 So many sounds There are many different sounds in our life. There are sounds that alert us to problems, sounds that entertain us, sounds of machines making things work, and sounds to communicate. These sound waves can travel through solids, liquids, and gases.

8 Sound all Around Sound is all around us in our everyday lives. It is important to be able to communicate with others, to learn, to be informed, and to have sound for enjoyment.

9 Review There are many different sounds in our life. We have sounds that alert us to problems, sounds that entertain us, and sounds of machines making things work, just to name a few. These sound waves can travel through solids, liquids, and gases. We perceive these sounds through our ear, which converts it to signals and sends the information to our brain.

10 Assignment: http://www.exploratorium.edu/listen/online_ watch.php Choose two videos and watch how people use listening in their lives and jobs. Write down two jobs where good listening is important. Write two sentences for each about why this job needs good listeners and what would happen if they didn't listen well.
