5 BOOK OF RULES RELEVANT FOR IMPORT  Book of rules on the procedure for import and transit list of third countries from which imports and approved transit, the form and content of the veterinary health certificate or other documents accompanying consignments of live animals and aquaculture, products of animal origin and the method and procedure of inspection and control at import and transit of consignments of live animals, aquaculture and animal products (OJ 53/10, 86/10, 144/10, 27/11, 66/11, 72/11, 84/11, 95/11, 114/11, 168/11, 185/11, 4/12, 33/12, 45/12, 65/12, 86/12) – Commission Regulation EC 1251/2008  Book of rules on technical and technological requirements and procedures for approval of quarantine, period of quarantine, isolation facilities, duration of isolation and quarantine for different species of animals, duration of observation and tests to be made (OJ 88/10) – Commission Decision 2008/946/EC

6 PROCEDURE FOR IMPORT Request for import  Form, content, signature & submision Risk analysis International trade & certification unit (evaluation of risk factors)  Country of export (disease status);  Holding of origin RASSF

7 IMPORT REQUIREMENTS Approved country, Aquaculture animals intended for farming, relaying areas, put and take fisheries and open ornamental facilities shall only be imported into the RM from third countries, territories, zones or compartments listed in BoR.

8 APPROVAL FOR IMPORT Issue a document for approval of import (import permit/ license) Check at border inspection post official veterinarian at BiP  Documentary check - compliance of the certificates, import permit, travel route, custom documentation,(CITES permit/certificate)  Identity check  Physical check

9 CERTIFICATION  COMMISSION REGULATION No 1251/2008 Consignments of aquaculture animals must be accompanied by an animal health certificate; comply with the animal health requirements set out in the model certificate

10 MODELS OF HEALTH CERTIFICATES animal health certificate for the import of aquaculture animals for farming, relaying, put and take fisheries and open ornamental facilities animal health certificate for the import of ornamental aquatic animals intended for closed ornamental facilities animal health certificate for transit/storage of live aquaculture animals, fish eggs and uneviscerated fish intended for human consumption

11 QUARANTINE Official veterinarian on animal health 24 hour notification prior import, confirmation of the quarantine facility, Fulfillment of quarantine requirements, Duration of quarantine Diagnostic tests
