2 Instructions  How to use this tutorial  When it says “click ______”, DON’T ACTUALLY CLICK IT IN THE POWERPOINT!  Click to advance  No fast clicking (clicking rapidly)  No cheating  In the last slide, click the TEXT! NOT THE OBJECT ITSELF  BE PATIENT!  Have a good day

3 Basics OOOOpen Custom Animation in Slide Show tab TTTThis will open up WWWWe’ll animate this object CCCClick the object CCCClick “Add Effect” in the Custom Animation box To make an object appear, click “Entrance.” To make an object grow, turn, or modify itself while it exists, click “Emphasis.” To make an object disappear, click “Exit.” To have an object move, click “Motion Paths.”

4 How to select an effect  To make an object appear, click “entrance.”  A drop-down list should show up  Click “More Effects”  This list should pop up  Use it to select different items  For other effects that are in the emphasis, effect, and motion path columns, do the same thing

5 Different animations have different effects  Let’s experiment with effects. Click an animation to see it in action. AppearGrow/ShrinkSpin Fade (this is both an entrance and exit effect
