1 Advantages and disadvantages of TechMed using web 2.0 technologies. What is Web 2.0? Web 2.0 describes World Wide Web sites that use technology beyond the static pages of earlier Web sites. Web 2.0 sites allow users to do more than just retrieve information. Instead of just reading, a user is encouraged to write as well, or contribute to the content available to everyone in a user friendly way. Examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites, hosted services and Web applications.

Advantages: -People are able to actively contribute to webpages. -It contains up to date current information. -With Web 2.0 tools, users can communicate around the world with a nominal cost. -Web 2.0 communities are used for driving product feedback and targeting valuable marketing resources.

Disadvantages: -There can be increased levels of spamming especially on comment and reply sections. -Current lack of good filters creates problems finding the best content. -Too much information is daily posted by many people with different thought. This creates confusion for the readers and the quality of the content is not reliable. -There are too many fake ID’s and spammers.
