Questions/Main Ideas Notes Where is ? What is the ? Since the Pilgrims landed north of where they intended, they were not part of Virginia Charter. Settled here in 1620. They made their own rules. It is important because it shows that the settlers were interested in self-governance.

8 Questions/Main Ideas Notes What is the ? In 1629, a joint-stock company received a royal charter to colonize and self-govern New England. 11 ships carrying 1,000 Puritans founded Boston. 20,000 people immigrated in the decade that followed.
