2 ROCSAT-2 Current Status  Development of the ISUAL âFabrication and Initial Testing of the Spectrophotometer ETU is complete åSystem taken to Colorado mountain for testing with actual sprites åSprites successfully detected with expected sensitivity åCosmic ray contamination problem identified åCircuit modifications being made to reject cosmic rays âAssembly of the ETU Sprite Imager is nearly fully complete åThe ETU CCD camera system with its electronics is in final checkout stage åAll mechanical parts made for both ETU and flight units åETU is fully wired with all circuit boards, heaters, thermistors, motor, etc. åThe optics system is fully complete except for gluing of the CCD to the Taper »This task has been delayed due to failure of UCB’s vendor to successfully deposit a mask onto the taper. UCB is now doing this in house with good results so far. åETU Filter wheel life testing is in process

3 ROCSAT-2 Current Status  Development of the ISUAL (Continued) âAEP ETU Fabrication and checkout is in process åMechanical design is complete and all ETU and flight unit parts made åPower System fabrication and checkout is complete åDPU circuit board fabrication is complete with checkout in process åMass Memory board fabrication is complete with checkout in process åDCM ETU board is being checked out at NCKU åThe final board in the AEP, the Instrument Data Control (IDC) board does not yet have a final circuit design »Completion of this design requires a final design for the SP cosmic ray rejection circuits, and also requires a final ICD between the AEP and the Array Photometer âArray Photometer Development åUCB finally has AD Ltd. Of Japan under contract!!!!!!!!!!!!! åWe very nearly have an agreed ICD between UCB and AD/Tohoku åAD is going ahead with the mechanical and circuit design

4 ROCSAT-2 Current Status  Development of the ISUAL (Continued) âISD has been completed and is ready for use in Astrium testing åNSPO engineer is currently at UCB reviewing ISD test procedures and results åExport license for temporary export of ISD to France is in place åNSPO engineer will accompany ISD to France and will perform bench tests and support spacecraft level testing using ISUAL ISD  IGSE Systems Status âHardware complete and checked out for two systems âInitial software is operational âOne system will stay at UCB, the other will temporarily go to Astrium âActel development system is set up

5 ROCSAT-2 Current Status (con’t)  Science Data Distribution Center âIncorporating the CCSDS standard in data format âStudying the telemetry commands for the ISUAL operation âReviewing CDF Skeleton Table for ISUAL data âEvaluating data query functions and schemes for the ISUAL data

6 ROCSAT-2 Issues and Concerns  Thermal Control Design-  Survival Heater Lines incorporated into instrument design  TM and TC ICD  Harness Routing
