2. Is Education a solution for Social Mobility? While education has a distinct role in predicting a person’s life chances it is not a solution for the lack of Social Mobility. Education can improve ones quality of life and that of their children but not to the extent of moving up in the social class rankings.

4. There are 3 main factors that contribute to a persons Social Mobility  Family Background  Education  And other- Influences unknown or unmeasured luck

5. Is education a solution for inequality? NO, the inequalities in American can not be fixed with education alone. Economic success depends on a variety of things that can not be measured, luck and competence, because this can no be equalized there is inequality.  Also things such as poverty can not be eliminated

6. Is education a solution for inequality? “Instead of trying to reduce people’s capacity to gain a competitive advantage on one another we would have to change the rules of the game as to reduce rewards of competitive success and the cost of failure” (Textbook Pg. 148)  Taxes?  Free education?

7. What does this mean? Education alone is not the solution to the lack of social mobility or inequality. Education does play a role in both areas and in no way should education be eliminated but it must be equally accessible ALONG with other solutions.
