Diploma or GED)  Low income and extremely low income youth

Our Vision Our vision is to join with others in the community to create an environment where the basic needs of youth are met, where youth can develop positive social skills, become more aware of their neighborhood’s needs and demonstrate genuine civic pride by actively contributing to the empowerment of their community and themselves.

7. Who we are

8. A placed base non-profit organization dedicated to improve the quality of lives for Young people and families of the South East Los Angeles Neighborhoods. LATTC provides students the opportunity to concurrently enroll in college courses while still in high school, getting early college experience and take advantage of advance scholastic and educational enrichment opportunities for students YCSC is a unique charter school that provides young adults with an authentic alternative to traditional school. YCSC provides a project- based high school curriculum that relies on authentic assessment to fulfill credits toward a high school diploma. Young people between the ages of 16-24 enroll at YCSC after having dropped out, aged out, or been otherwise failed by the traditional school system.

10. History of Partnership with Los Angeles Trade Technical College 2009 – Provided basic skills courses to CRCD Workforce Development Programs. A total of 20 youth were trained. 2010 – CRCD partnered with LATTC to start its first YouthBuild program. 30 youth were enrolled in carpentry college courses. 2011 – CRCD and YCSC partnered to open CRCD Academy, located on the campus of Los Angeles Trade Technical College. 2012 – Provided Post-Secondary Education Courses to 50 Youth 2013 – Provided Post-Secondary Education Courses and Facility Space to over 180 Youth in the Vernon-Central Community

Pathways to Credentials Objectives vs. Outcomes Year 1 Year 1 Outcomes July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013 50 youth enrolled into Pathways 34 youth completed Pathways to Cycle 21 received HBI PACT Credentials 12 on track to receive HBI PACT Credential 29 youth are on track to receive college credits 44 youth have received their OSHA 10 Card Year 1 Outcomes July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013 60 youth enrolled into Pathways 42 youth complete Pathways Cycle 30 youth are to be placed into post- secondary education and career training paths each year.

13. Pathways to Credentials Improvement and implementation strategy Align program and partner post-sec initiative timelines with that of Pathways to Credentials. Ensure all youth enrollment has full access to the community college district resources and services. Strengthen college success/ (persistence) Continue to strengthen the ongoing partnership between the Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) and Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC). Research new career training sectors and skills trades provided by the community colleges.

14. South los Angeles Youthbuild ongoing development and enhancement Development Strategies - Organize a construction trade employer advisory committee to approve the proposed core competencies. Enhancement Strategies - Pilot the core competency initiative to identify best practice for credit by exam. Career Pathways to High Growth Sectors -Incorporate transportation and logistics training. -Initiate healthcare training and curriculum Partnership Expansion - Expand training careers provided by community college partner. Employer Partnerships and Advisory Committee -Continue to enhance our current employer advisory committee. -Advocate for employer investment and partnership.

15. Pathways to Credentials Objectives vs. Outcomes Year 2 Compliance Implementation Plan Outcome Goals and Strategies Support alumni efforts to continue with post- secondary education in fields related to construction and other high growth sectors. 30 % of those members who complete industry recognize credentials will persist in college 1 semester beyond program completion rate
