6 Aims Provide an understanding of different types of Stroke. Signs, symptoms and effect on the person. Promote appropriate responses in the event of a Stroke and positive management and support following a Stroke

7 Learning outcomes Know what a Stroke is Know how to recognise Stroke Understand the management of risk factors Understand the importance of emergency response and treatment Understand the management of Stroke

11 Learning logs You will be required to complete a learning log throughout the award Approximately 25-30 hours will need to be completed by the end of the course

12 What to include Timetabled sessions Reflection, research and private study looking at policies or procedures books, articles, magazines or the internet Examples of putting theory into practice Mentoring, discussions with managers or peers and supervision
