14 Using Onomatopoeia to Tell a Story

15 For many, the most familiar places to find the onomatopoeia are comic books or comic strips from newspapers. The Batman comic book series has made use of the onomatopoeia since its first publication in 1939.

16 In fact, sometimes comics use onomatopoeia to help tell the entire story or are used to express the punch- line.

17 Activity 2: Onomatopoeia Comic Strip Using only onomatopoeic words to tell a story, you will construct your own comic strip. You will need 3-5 scenes and your onomatopoeias will need to be strongly connected to what is going on in your comic strip. These do not need to be extremely fancy… they need to be done by the end of class TODAY.
