OD [1] is a deliberately planned, organization-wide effort to increase an organization's effectiveness and/or efficiency and/or to enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals. OD theorists and practitioners define it in various ways. Its multiplicity of definition reflects the complexity of the discipline and is responsible for its lack of understanding. This purpose is to better absorb disruptive technologies, shrinking or exploding market opportunities and ensuing challenges and chaos. It is worth understanding what OD is not. It is not training, personal development, team development or team building, human resource development (HRD), learning and development (L&D) or a part of HR;

OD interventions are about change so involve people - but OD also develops processes, systems and structures. The primary purpose of OD is to develop the organization, not to train or develop the staff. OD is known as both a field of science focused on understanding and managing organizational change and as a field of scientific study and inquiry.

Experts in systems thinking and organizational learning, structure of intuition in decision making, and coaching (to name a few) whose perspective is not steeped in just the behavioral sciences. But a much more multi-disciplinary and inter- disciplinary approach, have emerged as OD catalysts or tools.

Making individuals in the organization aware of the vision of the organization. 2. OD helps in making employees align with the vision of the organization. 3. Strengthening inter-personnel trust, cooperation, and communication for the successful achievement of organizational goals.

Encouraging every individual to participate in the process of planning, thus making them feel responsible for the implementation of the plan. 5. Creating a work atmosphere in which employees are encouraged to work and participate enthusiastically. 6. Replacing formal lines of authority with personal knowledge and skill. 7. Creating an environment of trust so that employees willingly accept change.

An acceptable culture is influenced to all staffs, even there are in different approaches to complete their jobs. Growth, strategy, execution and systems are the various ways to meet the requirements of that corporations. With those characteristics, the development of organization is innovated and enhanced.

It is about the type of information communication partners have and the extent to which they “share” their extended network. Do you trust other organizations’ sources of knowledge? Do you trust your network partners’ recommendations and referrals to others in their network? Those are the networks necessary to support.

Those organizations with established networks - made up of highly familiar relationships with a long history of repeated interaction and more resilient. They reaped communication benefits by having more efficient and effective access to information and resources.

Specific contacts within a community of practice (e.g., professional associations and businesses that might also be competitors) as well as within and across the broader needs of such a community (e.g., suppliers, clients, non-profits) also were important.

Influences of organization communications Change improvement is very important to companies, they are process reengineerings, cost savings, increased bandwidth, competitive advantages, and increased value for the customer. A formal approach for managing change starts with the leadership team and then engagement of key stakeholders and leaders.
