Repentance is NOT defined as: Sorrow alone, 2 Cor. 7:8-10 Sorrow for sinful church… …but still assemble. Sorrow for drinking… …but still drink. Sorrow for smoking… …but still smoke.

Repentance is NOT defined as: Change alone, Lk. 3:8-14 Stop drinking for career. Stop beating family to avoid jail. Stop smoking for financial reasons.

Repentance is defined as: Change of will, Jonah 3:9; Ex. 13:17; Eze. 18:30, 31 Godly sorrow Repentance Change of life

Repentance & the Plan of Salvation Recognize you are a sinner. You are sorry for it. You need God’s grace.

Repentance is brought about in two ways, Rom. 11:22 God’s goodness, Rom. 2:4 Life, health, wealth. Christ, Church, Bible.

Why goodness & wrath? Teacher & class Candy, recess Paddling, suspension God & man Happiness, heaven Trouble, hell

Confess our belief in Jesus. He is Lord, Acts 2:36; 8:37 He was raised, Jn. 20:27-29 If we believe, we will speak, 2 Cor. 4:13

Belief without confession = damnation. Demonic, Jas. 2:19 Love of man, Jn. 12:42, 43; Gal. 1:10 Fear of man, Jn. 9:19-23; Rev. 21:8
