2. What is Feudalism? Political system that governed by small, local, independent leaders or lords. The organization of these leaders was considered FEUDALISM.

3. How does Feudalism work? High Noble Fief Lesser Noble Vassal (Passage of Land makes him a Lord) Knight Primogeniture: Inheritance of Land from father to eldest son.

4. Warfare: War was common due to local disputes between Lords and Knights, was also wide spread and destructive to regions. Knights were heavily armored, and well trained. Nobles saw war as heroic, pesants saw it as hardship and suffering. Church issued decrees forbidding violence, and protecting agriculture and livestock.

Feudal Justice: Trials: 1) by battle, 2)oath taking, 3)by ordeal 1) duel between the accused or a representatives. 2) accuser and accused have people swear their truth on their behalf. 3) accused had to survive a particular ordeal to prove innocence. If wounds healed quickly and well he was innocent, if not he was gulity.
