6 Moving Movement : do not stand in one area and move constanly and randomly Scanning Scanning: watch and listen constantly; target appropriate and inappropriate behaviors

7 Moving and Scanning Task 1 – Think-Pair-Share “It is more advantageous to move and scan as opposed to being stationary and looking in one direction because…”

11 Responding To Problem Behaviors Immediate Specific to behavior Non-argumentative; non-critical Consistent

12 Two-Minute Rule When responding: Focus on behavior, not the problem Resolve it privately when possible When speaking with students: Be respectful Speak in a calm voice When students: Cooperate: acknowledge and reinforce Are not compliant: redirect and give choices for compliance

14 Teamwork/Referral Forms Help staff collect information and work as a staff Show how strategies are working, and guide discussion and planning Show who needs more support and which areas need more supervision

15 Rules Playground Rules = should align with our 3 behavior expectations. Discuss at your table and share with the room the one rule that is “broken” most often or the biggest challenge for your students.
