2. 2 Accessing the online Election Night Reporting application. Go to the Idaho Secretary of State website at http://www.sos.idaho.gov or http://www.idsos.state.id.ushttp://www.sos.idaho.govhttp://www.idsos.state.id.us Click on the "Elections, Lobbyists & Campaign Disclosure" button

3. 3 Click on the “Election Results” link on the left side of the page

4. 4 Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “County Clerks” link at the bottom left-hand corner.

5. 5 Select your county, type in the password that was assigned to you by the Secretary of State's office and click the "Log In" button

6. 6 You will enter your data and click the "Submit" button, BUT first a few words of caution before you do so.

7. 7 IMPORTANT! The Election Night Reporting Application does NOT do math. Numbers you enter must be cumulative. Using the 2002 candidates above as examples, let us assume you logged in at 9:00 pm to report 10 votes for Michael Badnarik and 100 votes for George Bush. Later at 10:00 pm you log in to report 90 additional votes for Michael Badnarik and 50 additional votes for George Bush. You must enter the total accumulated votes. In this case, you would enter 100 votes for Michael Badnarik and 150 votes for George Bush. The same holds true for the precincts reporting. If at 9:00 pm you enter 1 precinct of 125 reporting and at 10:00 pm you have 2 additional precincts to report, you will need to enter 3 precincts reporting. The Election Night Reporting application does not do this math.

8. 8 The data you have entered is immediately recorded in the Idaho Secretary of State's election database and is then available for public view. If you wish to print your results, click on the "Print" button at the lower left corner. Once you have finished your data entry session please click on “Exit” to log off.

9. 9 HOW THE PUBLIC VIEWS ELECTION NIGHT REPORTING To access Election Night Reporting reports as unofficial counts become available for public viewing and printing, perform the following steps: Go to the Idaho Secretary of States website at http://www.sos.idaho.govhttp://www.sos.idaho.gov or http://www.idsos.state.id.ushttp://www.idsos.state.id.us Click on the "Unofficial Election Results" link near the upper right corner of the page

10. 10 The Idaho Secretary of State web page offers a variety of ways to view the results, from one individual county at a time (lower right corner), to all statewide candidates in all counties (upper left), to a statewide totals summary (lower left).
