2 9 th Grade Notes *ONLY READ PARAGRAPHS 1-7* *The character “Buck” is an Alaskan sled dog.* Take 5 minutes to carefully read the passage. There will be 5 questions this week. You will have 2 minutes to work on each question individually. You will have 1 minute to work on each question as a group.

3 #1 – After reading paragraphs 1-5, what is the main conflict in this passage? A – Mercedes is preventing the dogs from pulling the sled. B – Hal and Mercedes are abusing the dogs. C – The sled is too heavy for the dogs. D – The owners of the dog sled lack experience.
