The Perfection of the Bible

Historical Perfection  Every great writer in history had flaws and made mistakes.  Aristotle’s theory on the brain in Parts of Animals.  Josephus declared that a heifer gave birth to a lamb.  The famous poet Lord Byron mistakenly wrote that Sennacherib was killed 20 years before he was.  Adam Clarke thought the moon had streams, rivers, and inhabitants.  The Book of Mormon mentions a compass four centuries before it is invented.

Historical Perfection  The Bible continues to be proven accurate.  Many critics said the Hittites were not real. However, tablets with their language on it found in the 1900s shows that they were a powerful civilization.  Starting in 1929, Dr. John Garstang excavated the ruins of ancient Jericho. His discoveries corresponded remarkably with the Biblical account.

Historical Perfection  The Bible continues to be proven accurate.  Luke’s incredible historical and geographical accuracy in the books of Luke and Acts caused one skeptic to recant his thoughts: “I began with a mind unfavorable to Acts…but more recently I found myself often brought into contact with the Book of Acts as an authority for the topography, antiquities, and society of Asia Minor. It was gradually borne in upon me that in various details the narrative showed marvelous truth.”

Historical Perfection  The Bible continues to be proven accurate.  In 2005, a sewage-pipe break uncovered the Pool of Siloam in Old Jerusalem.  Laws of Science found in the Bible are proven accurate, such as things producing “after its kind,” the Earth not sitting on top of anything, and the perfect stability of the ark.  The medicinal practices that God instructed the Israelites to use have been proven to be practices of good hygiene.

Historical Perfection  The Bible continues to be proven accurate.  The Bible was written by over 40 men from all walks of life, in three different languages, over 1,500 years.  If you continue to research, you will find that the Bible is historically, geographically, scientifically, and medicinally accurate.

Fulfillment of Messianic Prophecies  There are over 300 Messianic prophecies in the O.T. and all were precisely fulfilled.  John the Baptist (Isaiah 40:3; Matthew 3:1-3)  Christ would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:1-2; Matthew 2:1-6)  Christ would teach in parables (Psalm 78:1-2; Matthew 13:34-35)  Christ would be numbered with the criminals and bear the sins of those who killed Him (Isaiah 53:12; Luke 23:33-34)

The Bible is Our Perfect Guidebook  2 Timothy 3:14-17 – the Bible has everything we need to live a Godly life  Because it is the perfect word of God, we need to study it and let it guide us through life.  Colossians 3:16  Ephesians 6:17  1 Thessalonians 2:13  Hebrews 4:12  God’s perfect and inspired word is the only book that will show us how to obtain salvation.
