1 Erin Mitchell’s Internship Summer 2012 701 Center for Contemporary Art

2 Quick Facts May-July 2012 135 hours Location: 701 Whaley St. Suite 212 Columbia, SC 29201 Earned Academic Credit

3 Responsibilities and Experience Monitored the gallery during open hours, tracking visitors, answering questions about exhibitions, and directing callers and building visitors to appropriate information. Updated mailing lists for both 701 CCA members and other interested parties. Assisted with exhibit de-installation for exhibiting artists. Prepared gallery for installation of new exhibits.

4 Responsibilities Cont. Archived print materials for record-keeping purposes. Assisted with setup and cleanup for artist receptions. Assisted with summer youth workshops for children and teens ages 6-17. Signed students in and out each day, assisted students with artistic processes, and other tasks as needed. Updated 701 CCA's Facebook page about upcoming events, exhibits at other art venues, and any new information.
