1
Physical Properties of Matter
2
Classify Grouping matter together based on similar traits
3
Properties Describe matter by its mass, magnetism, state, density, solubility, and if it’s a conductor/insulator
4
Matter Anything that has mass and takes up space
5
Mass How much matter is in an object
6
Physical State Solid, Liquid, or Gas
7
Solid Definite shape, definite volume
8
Liquid No definite shape but has definite volume; takes shape of its container
9
Gas No definite shape, no definite volume
10
Magnetism Property of attraction to a magnet
11
Solubility The ability to dissolve
12
Relative Density Objects that are more dense will sink; objects that are less dense will float
13
Buoyancy The ability to float More Dense=Sink Less Dense=Float
14
Conductor Allows heat and/or electricity to pass through; All metals are good conductors.
15
Insulator Slows down or stops the flow of electric current or heat; Does not allow heat or electricity to pass through
16
Flexibility Capable of being bent
