3 Revolutions! Sept. 30 - Oct. 1, 2013 Students will analyze key components of a revolution with a gallery walk and written responses.

4 Homework Finish EOG Review vocabulary cards. See previous lesson for word list.

5 Warm-Up Include the question in your answer. 1. What is a revolution? 2. What are the causes of revolutions? 3. What effects result from revolutions? Think-Pair-Share with your seatmate.

6 Gallery Walk 1. You and your seatmate will have 3 minutes at each picture. 2. Discuss with your seatmate how each event is a ‘revolution’. 3. Answer “What is the change in this event?” Record your conclusions in your notebook.

7 After Gallery Walk – Individual Work 4. Refine your definition of a revolution in your notebook. 5. Continue writing in paragraph form by citing two separate examples from the gallery walk to support your definition. 6. End with a conclusion sentence. Use RACE: “For example, according to the picture….”

8 With your group, collaborate to create a sentence strip that best defines a revolution. Make sure your group definition is in your notebook.

9 assessment Name one thing that revolutions might have in common. If you were absent today, please see Mrs. Dolinger for gallery pictures.
