2 September 23, 2014 Materials: pencil, Journal, red pen, glue, ruler 1.Copy your Agenda if you did not do it Monday. 2.Record the correct solutions for the quiz with a RED pen directly on your quiz. You will have 10 minutes from the tardy bell to complete this task. 3.When you are finished…keep a pencil, ruler, glue, and Journal on your desk. 4.Glue the “Bookmark” into your Journal. Note the resource website.

3 The DODGE BALL PROBLEM Ratio and Proportional Thinking CCSS: 6.RP.1: Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities.

4 What is a ratio? A ratio uses division to compare 2 numbers. There are 3 ways to write a ratio. NOTE: a ratio is not a fraction, but can be written in fraction form.

5 DODGEBALL TEAM PROBLEM A co-ed dodge ball team has 7 girls and 5 boys on its roster. Write as many ratios that you can think of to describe the dodge ball team above. Label each ratio as part to part or part to whole or whole to part.
