2. Purpose of Today To provide information about the Building Better Opportunities Programme To highlight local priorities To further explore the requirements for delivering BBO To give guidance on how you can get involved

GM Priorities -Project Location Projects should be delivered across the GM area but should included specialist provision in specific areas: Manchester – unemployment including ethnic minority communities, health conditions Salford- unemployment and drug related Mental health issues Rochdale- unemployment, health conditions

4. GM Priorities -Project Location Wigan- health conditions, and drug related mental health issues Bolton- health conditions Oldham- unemployment among people from ethnic minority communities

5. GM Priorities- Participants All participants need to be unemployed or economically inactive. Includes but is not limited to: People over 25 People with disabilities or health conditions Vulnerable women People from ethnic minorities and migrant workers

6. GM Priorities- Participants Other adults under-represented in the labour market for example: People who are homeless Ex-offenders Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people

7. Other Priorities Individualised support for participants Links to employment and self employment opportunities Additional to existing provision

8. Possible Activities Provision of holistic assessment Support tailored to help people move towards economic activity Support to address poverty and social isolation Volunteering/ work experience Pre employment support Digital inclusion

9. How to get involved There will be one successful application to cover the whole of GM. There is likely to be a number of partnership bids lead by different organisations. You can find details on the GMCVO website but be aware there may be other organisations who haven’t registered their intentions on our website
