INTRODUCTION  On the 24 th of October 2012 y6 went to the Tate Modern and had a brilliant day.  Jackson and Rhiannon would like to tell you a bit about their time.  We hope that you learn something from this, but most of all enjoy it. Back to contents

On floor two we experienced paintings and art work that made you think. We took our time looking at these wonderful pieces of art work. Like this one for example: Back to contents

o These rooms display work created after the second world war, when artists created a new kind of expressive abstraction. o On this floor the work that had been displayed had very good detail that made you look closely. o For example this one By Jackson Poliock: Back to contents

On floor 4,Structure and Clarity.  The central room in the wing is devoted to the abstract or ‘constructive’ art of the inter-war years.  These structures are made in many different ways.  Quick tip: how to make a bronze statue. First make the mould out of clay then cover it in wax after that pour bronze over the wax mould then your done.

Level 4, Energy and process  The displays in Energy and process look at artists’ interest in transformation and natural forces.  We may not have an example picture to show you but we can tell you about them.  They are made in many different ways with electrics, such as lights, televisions and more.  The structures are quite random but are very attractive,

* This display, displays works taking the form of a theatrical or ‘staged’ presence within the gallery, creating installation art. * Looking at this section made the whole place look like a story of art. * Like this one for example: Back to contents

* Joan Miro on floor two 1893-1983 * Jackson Poliock on floor 3 * Pablo Picasso on floor 4 1881-1973 * Bruce Naumon on floor 4 * Pawel Althamer on floor 4 -1967 Back to contents

CONCLUSION- WHAT WE THOUGHT OF THE TATE MODERN. Jackson and Rhiannon thought that the whole day was a lovely, exciting, enjoyable, experience. We would suggest that you go there because if you are someone who loves art then really it is the right place for you. We already know that if you went there, later on after finishing, you would come out ( although you probably wouldn’t want to leave) and will have learnt something new. Thank you for listening to our opinion, Jackson and Rhiannon!
