Feelings about plants are symbolic of the way some townspeople feel about ot hers. “She loved everything that grew in God’s earth, even the Weeds.” Metaphorically, the Ewells are a blade of nutgrass in Maycomb community. Bravery- concept very important to Jem- starts with dare, then tire, then Radley game Trust/Truth- children are starting to understand the people around them (Miss Maudie and Miss Stephanie) Femininity- Scout expereinces plight familiar to many women (Dill’s proposal of marriage) 4 different kinds of women- Calpurnia, Miss.
