* Health care began in 400B.C., and people blamed it was the Gods that controlled illnesses and others blamed different reasons. Back then, surgeries were performed. Eventually, doctors kept notes on diseases. Then, the industrial revolution came and machines were made, as well as vaccinations. Also, equipment was to be sterilized to avoid infection. Then, hospitals were invented for people to die. Antibiotics and medications were developed.

* During the time period before 19 th century, doctors didn’t have many tools and diagnosed patients on instinct, rather then science. In 1895, the revolution in health care began with the invention of the X-ray. The change in health care made more advancements and other life-saving drugs, so people could live 30 years longer than their ancestors from a century ago.

* Stimulating muscles and organs has been happening since the late 1700’s, but the first major pacemaker device was developed in 1930 by Albert S. Hyman. The pacemaker was successful 14 out of 43 times by March 1, 1932, but never recorded human data due to people saying they are not letting death due its coarse. The pacemaker equipment was large and disorganized to being able to fit into a persons body and then later developed so it could be placed in a persons body. From 1975 to 1990’s, pacemakers have been implanted from 150000 to 600000.

* The CT scan was invented in 1972, and originally made to only scan the head. In today’s society, you can scan the whole body, which is a MRI exam, while having more comfort for patients and more anatomy can be scanned in minimal time. Also, images are more clear with the a low dosage and exposure to X-ray. In one scan, almost a thousand pictures are taken. The pictures back then were in 2-d, while now they are in 3-d.

* With the first laser eye surgeries came with people having blurriness on the edge of their eye and light sensitivity. This happened due to treatments using 3.5 to 4mm optical zones, in which many pupils dilate to 5mm. Modifications of computers now minimize problems with wide or broad beam machines. Also, computer problems control surface sculpting, so this ensures the highest possible accuracy and success.

* GE- they are the leading the way in digital hospitals, which is technology for patient monitoring, imaging, information delivery and more. * Cisco Networks- they help connect all employees to the same information and communications infrastructure so important resources are delivered at anytime and to different devices.

* Red Cross- they help train health promoter, volunteers and caregivers in the world’s poorest regions so they know how to keep children from dying. * American Medical Association- they are helping prepare the future of physician education, and this is supposed to get future physicians ready for a complex medical environment. * U of R- they provide health care for full time students, and the students are in the Student Health Program which does primary care visits, time-limited therapy, and health promotion services.
