1 Hall of Fame of Faith Hebrews 11 Part 8

2 W hen you live by faith you live for different reasons than those around you.

3 When you live by faith: ~You live by considering Him faithful who Promised. ~You live by considering Him faithful who commands. ~You live by considering Him faithful who warns.

4 When you live by faith: ~You consider the God of the Bible faithful – so you live according to the Word of God.

5 B oth Moses and Abraham are great examples of those who live under the shadow of the great DAY.

6 B oth Moses and Abraham did what they did in this life because they were constantly thinking of the next life.

7 Faith That pleases God in Hebrews 11: ~In “I Spy God” situations – 11:27 Beautiful child. ~In God’s promises – 11:26 + many other times in chp 11. ~In light of the “Great Day” or Next Life.

8 Psalm 10 Psalm 10:4-5 4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. 5 His ways are always prosperous; he is haughty and your laws are far from him; he sneers at all his enemies. The Thought Life of the Wicked

9 Psalm 10:6 6 He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me; I'll always be happy and never have trouble."

10 Psalm 10:11 11 He says to himself, "God has forgotten; he covers his face and never sees."

11 Psalm 10:13 13 Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"?

12 Luke 12:13-21 13 Someone in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me." 14 Jesus replied, "Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?" 15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." 16 And he told them

13 this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. 17 He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.' 18 "Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '

14 20 "But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?' 21 "This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God."

15 Luke 16:1-9 1 Jesus told his disciples: "There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions. 2 So he called him in and asked him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.' 3 "The manager said to himself, 'What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job. I'm not

16 strong enough to dig, and I'm ashamed to beg-- 4 I know what I'll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses.' 5 "So he called in each one of his master's debtors. He asked the first, 'How much do you owe my master?' 6 " 'Eight hundred gallons of olive oil,' he replied. "The manager told him, 'Take your bill, sit down quickly, and make it four hundred.' 7 "Then he asked the second, 'And

17 how much do you owe?' " 'A thousand bushels of wheat,' he replied. "He told him, 'Take your bill and make it eight hundred.' 8 "The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light. 9 I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves,

18 so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.

19 Rev 6:15-17 15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?"
