: Academy Completion Guidelines Ferguson Academy Completion Criteria : Becoming an academy completer is an important first step towards earning certification, college credit and scholarships. To be an academy completer at Ferguson Sr. a student must: Complete all State of Florida graduation requirements Complete a minimum of 100 hours of community service Earn a minimum cumulative weighted grade point average of 3.0 Earn a minimum un-weighted grade point average of 3.5 in their academy major Complete four consecutive courses in a recognized major Additional requirements will be needed to comply with industry certification requirements, college / university articulation agreements, or scholarship requirements (including Florida Academic Scholars Award, Florida Medallion Scholars Award, and the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award)

The job-preparatory programs at John A. Ferguson High School are designed to provide students with the competencies necessary for certification in a variety of entry level health occupations. Many of our programs articulate with Miami-Dade County Public Schools post-secondary programs and/or Miami-Dade Community College programs.
