2 The Land Morocco is around Africa, Europe and the Middle East. To the north of Western Sahara and to the West of Algeria. Morocco has such features as the Dades Gorges, Erg Chebbi, and the Straight of Gibraltar. It is hard for the small villages of Morocco to get water because of where they live and the cleaning process that takes for the water to be drinkable is too expensive.

3 The Land cont. The natural resources that Morocco offers are phosphates, iron ore, manganese, lead, zinc, fish, and salt.

4 Climate and vegetation Vegetation includes cork oaks, oaks, juniper trees, cedars, fir trees, pine, olive, thorn bushes and dwarf palms. Wild life includes camels, gazelles, panthers, wild goats, many reptiles, elephants, primates, rodents, hedgehogs, moles and whales

5 Government Some people with political power include: Mohammed VI ibn al-Hasan who is the head of state. The prime Minister is Abbas El Fassi. The minister of Foreign Affairs is Taieb Fassi Fihri The Ministers of the Interior is Chakib Benmoussa Leader of UNFP/USFP is Mohammed El Yazghi

6 History & Current Events In Medieval times Morocco was influenced my Muslims. Sultan Mohammad was the king of Morocco during 1912-1956 and that also marked the end of Morocco as a French protectorate Mr. El Fassi, leader of the Conservation Istiqlal Party, took office in September 2007, after his party emerged as the largest in parliamentary elections.

7 Economy Some major exports that morocco has is clothing and textiles, electric components, inorganic materials, transistors, crude minerals, fertilizers, petroleum products, citrus fruits, vegetables, and some fish. The literacy rate is: women 31% and men 57%. One US dollar is worth 7.89 Dirhams

8 Culture The languages spoken are classical Arabic, French, and Spanish. The main religion is Islam. Morocco takes a lot of values to the table with guests. There are specific things that you must do or you could end up offending your host. US$1=7.89 Dirhams

9 Places to Visit The number 1 place to visit in the country of morocco is the city of Marrakech. This city has a lot of historical background to Morocco. They have things worth seeing like the central square or the Saadian tombs. Another place to visit is Essaouira. It’s a great beach that doesn’t have a lot of travelers. Some famous people that went here were Jimi Hendrix and bob Marley.
