London is embarking on a cycling revolution… Mayor of London’s Vision for Cycling (£900m programme) 3 outer London Boroughs selected: (LB Enfield, LB Kingston, LB Waltham Forest) LB Waltham Forest awarded £27m Mini Holland funding Development and delivery of programme 2014-17

3 Waltham Forest Mini Holland Key Projects: Lea Bridge Road – A Street for Everyone Walthamstow Town Centre & Villages Town Centres A Network of Excellent Cycle Routes Complementary Measures Cycle Hubs

4 Key Outcomes: 1 A network of direct joined up cycle routes 2 Safer streets for the bike 3 More people travelling by bike 4 Better places for everyone 5 Better balance between movement and place 6 International best practice 7 Attract growth 8 Support other corporate objectives

5  42% increase in cycling on Lea Bridge Road 2013-2014  426 businesses on or near Lea Bridge Road, including shops, tradesmen, schools, hotel, and places of worship  Approx. 2.5 miles in length (Whipps Cross to borough boundary)  Reopening of Lea Bridge Station  Multi-functional- key transport corridor, high street, residential street, workplace and community asset Lea Bridge Road – a street for everyone

6 Aims of the scheme: Make cycling and walking more attractive, easy and relieve traffic congestion. Transform look and feel of road into thriving high street and community area, increasing footfall and business opportunities. Make the road safer and easier for all road users.
