8 Introduction  Problem solving is a systematic approach leading from an initial situation to a desired situation that is subject to some resource constraints.

9 Problem-Solving Process  To solve a problem successfully, you must apply a logical plan: 1. Define the problem. 2. Investigate and analyze the problem. 3. Identify possible solutions. 4. Is it out of ink or toner? Are there color printing issues? Does it have paper? Is it jammed? Is the cable connected, and is it connected properly? Is the cable good? Have you cleaned the printer recently? 4. Select and implement a solution. Test all possible solutions until you find one that is likely to work, and then implement the solution 5. Confirm the solution. Turn off the printer and computer, turn them back on, and then test again. 6. Document the problem and the solution. 22 Activity  Choose a common computer problem from Windows Help and create a PowerPoint and 1/2 page cheat sheet for our School Technology Coordinator (Mr. Chandler and Mr. Anderson) to distribute to teachers or students when the problem occurs.
