What is a Hosted IP-PBX? The Definition of an IP PBX doesn’t change if you elect to implement a hosted solution. It is still a software application running on a server. However, in a hosted implementation, that server (and in most cases the media gateways) are located in Data Centers, specifically designed to house servers and gateways.

Why A Hosted Solution  Cost effective and flexible  Conserve capital  Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)  Focus on your business, not your phone system  Fight obsolescence

Target Market for Hosted Solutions  The “sweet spot” is the 2-50 person Enterprise  Other factors can make a hosted solution economical for a larger enterprise as well;  Geographically dispersed  Lots of telecommuters and/or road-warriors  Little or no internal technical expertise

Improve Productivity  Flatten Geographic Distances  30% of the SME workforce are either nomadic, in different facilities, or are even outsourced.  Presence and a variety of IP-based communications to unify all employees into a cohesive workforce.  Enables Real Time Interaction  “ Time is money ” and improving workflow processes are critical.  Instant meetings, remote desktop collaboration, and application integration shortens “ time to solve ”.

Conserve Capital  Predictable Price  No Up-front capital Costs  No hidden soft costs  Simple and predictable OPEX and TCO

Lower Operational Costs  No Complexity  No dedicated IT staff required  Pay for what you use when you use it  Reduce Telephone Usage Charges  Moves, Adds and Changes (MACs) should be web- based and doable without “ special knowledge ”

Maintain Business Focus  Communications becomes another utility that you don’t have to mange.  Like water and power.  You use it, someone else takes care of it  Ease of Maintenance and Support  Move, adds, change, delete and phone number provisioning don’t require a technical support call  No capabilities in 24x7 systems management, call centers, hosting/networking, security, disaster recovery, etc.

Fight Obsolescence  The cost of system improvements is distributed across all users  No need to upgrade hardware  Automatic software upgrades

Improve Customer Service  Improve Customer Access  Ends frustration with voicemail, auto attendants, and busy lines  Intelligent call routing to employee “ extensions ”, enterprise ACDs, web and IM services provides a better balance of accessibility

Reduce Total Cost of Ownership  Less Costly to Buy and Operate  No upfront CAPEX beyond IP handsets  No hidden soft costs with a simple and predictable OPEX  Doesn ’ t become obsolete within months  Easier To Use  No specialized IT staff required outside of existing staff.  Unified end user application for all communications services reduces training and support costs.  Easier Maintenance and Support  Move, adds, changes, deletes and phone number provisioning are performed in seconds.  Inclusive managed services including technical support, disaster recovery, etc.

Summary  Improve Productivity  Conserving Capital  Lower Operational Costs  Maintain Business Focus  Fight Obsolescence  Improve Customer Service  Lower Total Cost of Ownership
