EXAGGERATED ENERGY DRINKS PRODUCT LABELING PROJECT

thE Job... Invent an energy drink that promises unrealistic or exaggerated properties and benefits. Design a bottle label that will appeal to my company’s chosen target group or market. Choose a color scheme that will be interesting to our demographic. Include the required labeling such as the UPC code, ingredients, and product bottler. Produce a prototype of the bottle and liquid to discuss the overall visual appeal to the buyer.

WHAT Drink IS THIS? How do you know for sure? What visual evidence helps? What is the flavor?

Target Groups What is the target group for this product? Our product group is teenagers and students12 to 18 years of age.

Image Transfer The success of a possible image transfer between an Energy Drink and a certain brand/company is mainly based on two factors: 1.Relevance to the Target Groups: –The target customers of the drink and the consumers can be considered to be almost identical. (Mountain Due- Extreme Sports) 2. Image Attraction: –The characteristics of the image of the product match the image of an Energy Drink in almost every regard. As a rule, the consumer associates Energy Drinks with images related to the impossible benefits.

The main image should relate to the product name and attract the customer. Remember that the image must be visible so be careful of wrap-around. Details, Details, Details! Every one’s bottle will contain 1 Pint.9 Fl OZ (16.9 FL OZ).5 LITER. You must also list a Flavor, put a UPC code, your production logo, and nutritional facts on your label. Resolution: 200 pixels/inch Size: Width 8.25 x Height 2.50 Color scheme is important. You need to choose 2-4 colors to use. It should fit your idea and should be interesting to the viewer. Contrast helps! The title will also attract the viewer. Make it interesting and related to what your drink does. Be clever and creative. Creativity sells! CREATIVITY IS KEY!

The 1/3 rd Rule Remember, only about 1/3 rd of your label will be viewable at any time. This happens due to the wrap around that occurs on the cylindrical bottle.
