2 Taking care of your teeth is very important! Once you lose your baby teeth, your permanent adult teeth have to last the rest of your life!

3 Teeth are important for helping us with chewing food, speaking correctly, and making our smiles beautiful! To keep your teeth healthy, you need to brush with toothpaste TWICE everyday!

4 Brush your teeth TWICE a day! – The best time to brush your teeth is after meals, like breakfast, and before bedtime. It is EXTRA important to brush your teeth after eating sweets, like candy and sugary drinks. Proper Brushing- Review

6 What happens if we DON’T brush our teeth? If we don’t brush our teeth we can develop gum disease and cavities caused by a lot of plaque on our teeth.

7 Plaque is the gooey, yellowish stuff that builds up on our teeth between brushing and flossing. Plaque is made up of sugars from foods and bacteria, which are always in the mouth throughout our day.

8 It is important to try and stay away from foods with lots of sugar like soda, candies, and cookies. If you do eat these foods it is important to brush or rinse your teeth after eating them before the sugar starts to form plaque.

9 Eating crunchy vegetables or fruits with the skin on can scrub off plaque! Carrots, apples, cucumbers, and many other raw fruits and vegetables are teeth-friendly!
