1 DO NOW: WHEN YOU HEAR THE WORD “GOSPEL”, WHAT COMES TO MIND? Chapter 5: Lesson 2

2 Chapter 5 – Lesson 2 Incarnation: the truth that the Son of God, the second person of the Blessed Trinity, became man and lived among us Jesus Christ is both truly divine and truly human at the same time – “true God and true man”.

3 Chapter 5 – Lesson 2 We meet Jesus in the four Gospels.  Gospel means “good news.” The 4 Gospels in the New Testament are written accounts of this good news.  The Gospel formation followed these steps: 1. Jesus lived, taught, and worked among us; then died and rose to new life to save mankind. 2. Eyewitnesses to Jesus’ life shared the truth, and by word of mouth this good news began to spread. 3. The Gospel authors, inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote the good news that had been handed down.

4 Chapter 5 – Lesson 2 Gospel means “Good News”. The four Gospels of the New Testament: Are written by Matthew, Mark, Luke & John Are written accounts of the good news that God sent His only son, Jesus Christ, into the world.
