1 Notes: The Jungle Book script on the back is an example of how you may start and end your show. Please create your own comments, but make sure to stay within the general framework of the script. All words and phrases in italics are instructions and should not be read aloud. Before you start, take a few minutes to decide on the name of your talk show and the name of the host. Read over the lines and take note of any special instructions. If you are playing a character from the short story, it is your responsibility to answer questions directed at your character. It is your job to decide what your character is feeling and how he/she would answer. Please complete script with everyone doing there part. Please ensure that you do the following in your talk show: 1. Exemplify the values of your character 2. Demonstrate the clash of values between characters 3. Show how those conflicts are resolved, positively or negatively 4. Reveal how humans across the globe need to be individuals in the midst of community 5. Show both direct (words) and indirect (body movements, facial expressions, dialect etc.) characterization. 4. Use three to four direct, well-placed quotes. 4. Reflect the characters and plot of the story, not yourself or Jerry Springer! 5. Have at least four guests and only one talk show host. You may bring a character back from the dead. 6. Have a typed copy a script of your talk show by the presentation date. 7. Please stay within 8-10 minutes for the entire talk show. Have fun and be creative! You and your group will create a talk show for public broadcasting channel. The producers want you to demonstrate the need for cultures and the individuals in those cultures to pass on their values. Investigate how these values can cause conflict and how those conflicts are resolved, positively or negatively. Use the story to reveal, through example or counterexample, how humans across the globe need to be individuals in the midst of community.
