1 April 21-22 I can organize writing to make a cohesive whole. I can score 80% or higher on my dramatic literature/Animal Farm Test. I can use close reading strategies in order to interpret increasingly challenging texts. I can identify the author’s use of parallel plots and subplots.

2 Bell Ringer A Day  George Orwell’s Animal Farm is an allegory and a satire. You have been asked to present to an audience of peers the moral or lessons learned in Animal Farm. In the presentation, you must discuss how the lesson or lessons learned can benefit one’s life. Also, make sure that you make personal connections to your own life.

3 Grade Check (Both A and B Days)  As you are working on your test and missing work, I will call you up to check your grades.  You will need to fill out the chart and KEEP the chart in your folder!!!! (We will continue to check your grades weekly, so you will need to keep your chart).  Also need to check to see if you have completed your ILP.

4 Check…  You should have the following completed and turned into the tray:  Character Symbols- choose 1 character and draw pictures or cut out pictures from a magazine to represent that character’s personality. You must have a written explanation for each of the symbols. (25 points)  12 Comprehension Questions- questions we completed after our first reading (24 points)  Group Activity- Summarize, Question, Connect, Predict, and Reflect. You should have all 5 tasks completed, otherwise you and your group will not get full credit. (25 points)  Literary Analysis- 40ish questions from the margins in the book. (100 points)  All of these assignments will be recorded in the gradebook!!!

5 A DAY  You will put your answers into the clickers for the dramatic literature vocabulary test first.  Then you will put in your answers for the Animal Farm Test.

6 Review Test  Discuss answers and questions missed.  Compare pre-test with post-test.

7 Review Term  In your own words write a definition for allusion, and give an example.

8 Both Days- Vocabulary Vocabulary- write the following definitions in your notes. 9 Lamb to the Slaughter  In the Holt Reader, read pages 150-162.  Complete the questions in the margins as you read.  Complete the irony chart on page 163.

10 Review: B Day  You will have 5 minutes to review your vocabulary.

11 Trasketball 4B  4B will play trasketball before taking the test.

12 Test  B Day- You will need to complete the dramatic literature vocabulary test first.  You will put your answers into the clickers. You will have about 20 minutes.  Then you will take the Animal Farm Test and put your answer into the clickers.
