2. Deir el-Bahri, Thebes Hatshepsut built a temple at Deir el-Bahri, Thebes. She built this temple west of the Nile and near the river of Thebes. Hatshepsut's remains were long considered lost, but in June 2007 a mummy from Tomb KV60, known as the "Strong One" was identified as her remains by Zahi Hawass, the chief of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities. Modern CT scans of that mummy believed to be Hatshepsut suggest she was about fifty years old when she died from a ruptured abscess after removal of a tooth. Historians consider Thutmose III to have been the Napoleon of Egypt because of his military conquests.
