3 The Problem 15 Trillion Dollars in Debt 21% of our budget is spent on social security 19% is spent on National Defense 47% of our Revenue is from Citizens 12% is from Corporations

4 How are we going to pay it off? Raise Taxes for Certain Citizens Not Spending as much Money Redefine the Budget Bring Work Back to America

5 Impact on Our Nation Families have members fighting in wars that they don't support People lose their jobs due to the investment in unsuccessful businesses and loss of homes

6 Republican Opinion Mitt Romney believes that we should lower taxes, and government spending. Also, he believes that we should change the way the government creates jobs, and spends money.

7 Democrat Opinion Democrats, such as President Obama, believe in creating new jobs and bringing work back to America. He wants to save our economy by bringing well paying jobs back. He also believes in a higher percentage tax rate for the richer 1% of America.
