3 BYOD stands for Bring your own device. Students are allowed to register two devices. Devices include: Tablets, iPads, and laptops, and eReaders. No Cell Phones or iPods

4  Establishing a BYOD program will put technology in the hands of more students.  Some students are more comfortable using their own technology.  Students are more engaged using technology.  Build students’ technology and collaboration skills. NB - If your child does not have a device a lap top or computer will be provided.

5 How? All documents, registration form and BYOD Policy, will be available on Genesis Parent Portal on Friday, September 19 th. Forms are due by September 26 th. Students will receive a registration card. Devices will be registered on the network by IT Staff during the week of October 6. After devices have been set up and registered, teachers will tell students when they will need their devices in class. Devices will be used for instructional purposes only.

6 After the Pilot BYOD classes are up and running, information about expanding the BYOD program to all classes will be provided. Thank you in advanced for your support and patience.
