2 All about The Council for Disabled Children (CDC) We are the umbrella body for the disabled children’s sector We have a membership of 150 organisations We host a variety of networks We also hold a number of contracts with government, including this Strategic Reform Partner contract

3 Summary of our work CDC’s work focuses on three key areas: Expertise Providing channel to and from government for provision of expert views and advice on key elements of the SEN and disability reforms and related issues Information exchange Our Countdown to Change programme, including the tailored promotion of resources and messages for a range of audiences who will be impacted on by the reforms Support Supporting the disabled children's sector to develop new and sustainable approaches to adapt to these changes, including our Innovation and Sustainability Programme.

4 Expertise Our priority areas under this section include: The SEN clauses on the Children and Families Bill The SEN Code of Practice and regulations Our role includes: Channelling feedback from our members and networks into government Promoting existing evidence on the reforms Identifying and sourcing evidence where needed

5 Information Exchange Digital Publications Face-to- face Primary activity: to provide consistency we will work with partners to develop a joint set of clear and distinct messages about essential elements of the reform for everyone to use Three key strengths 1.
